Food Art @ Diletto

Her beloved atmosphere purposely dedicated for ladies. Camera will definitely come first once you stepped in the place. There are picture scenes everywhere from ceiling to floor and certainly on food.

Matched with the name "Delitto", as known as beloved in Italian, the interior design of the restaurant brings to guests an accessible prestige to a luxury secret garden. It is a perfect place for loved ones to enjoy.

We could tell dedicate effort has been put into dish creation.  Contemporary menu seems specialized in Italian but, in fact, did not lack of Asian infusion. Two of us ordered 4 dishes in total. They were all decorated as flower blossom although not perfect on taste.

Bread basket with olive oil and varies spread

I would say this was the most beautiful & eye catching complimentary bread basket set I have ever. I liked the stainless steel bread container so much and wonder if it was originally designed for such purpose.

The set came with olive oil & vinegar in a glass container, pumpkin spread, grilled garlic and butter. They were presented in a neat and tidy way.

Oven-baked focaccia and Italian bread sticks were served. Perfect combination with a taste of soft & creamy bread followed by crispy stick.

Sword Fish Carpaccio $158

Sword fish was possibly a new ingredient for Carpaccio. It is nice to have an alternative for traditional beef or tuna Carpaccio. I do believe the idea comes from ceviche or sashimi.

Decorated by a mix of arugula, frequla, salmon roe, blood orange, olive and pickle on a white plate, the Carpaccio was presented as a flower ring with transparent raw fish in the middle.

The bright white, thinly sliced sword fish denoted freshness. Over lemon dressing, I found the freshness of sword fish was further awaken. Sided by salad with varies ingredient, this was certainly a very refreshing appetizer.

Lobster Bisque $98

Nicely touched up by olive oil and cream, this lobster bisque from Diletto looked different. The texture was thick and smooth as expected.

Favor of lobster was strong and it earned score by additional lobster meat in the soup. Fresh and tasteful, amount of lobster meat was abundant.

Crab Meat Open Face Lasagna  $278

Nothing stopped us on ordering a pasta for an Italian dinner although there were so many attractive choice on the menu. We picked a lasagna as crab meat sounds less greasy than traditional beef and cheese lasagna.

Beyond expectation, the dish was like a drawing. It was mainly due to the way vinegar was added to the plate on the side. I believe that was painted by a brush.

Three layers of Lasagna were generously filled by black truffle paste, celeriac root, cream, truffle oil, salmon roe and argula. They looked rich but taste light. It was not stuffy at all.

Sea Bass al Cartoccio $278

Last but not the least, here came the signature Sea Bass al Cartoccio. Plenty of fresh ingredients, e.g. sea bass, clams, pancetta, carper, tomato, potato and fennel, a little bit of everything, were wrapped by a multi-layered paper basket. The basket was crispy as well as so solid that no chance for any soup to leak out. It was nice to keep all ingredients moisture.

Sea bass was fried beforehand so as to maintain a crispy skin. Small clams were fatty. Pancetta added savoy favor.  However, overall taste was too light. I could not rate it yummy.

Presentation won the score but there was room for improvement to seasoning and cooking technique. With comfortable seating, pleasant environment and good service, I don’t mind to come again with other girl-friends; especially those fancy light meal but great environment.
